This lot of rare art comes from the estate of a friend of the artist. Outside of very few specialty auctions, Mr. Gorse work is next to impossible to come by.

Over the past 15 years, fewer than 5 of these sculptures have come to auction, fetching in the ranges of $800.00 to over $4000.00 USD, though, Mr. Gorse’s sketches are extremely rare and have never come to market.

As far as I can tell, only a few select national galleries in Slovenia have examples in their collections.

1. Sculpture featured in the New York show catalog “Studia Slovenica VIII” in 1971.
Measures 18 x 8.5″ signed and dated 1970 and includes original gallery catalog autographed by the artist.
